Clinical Strategy for Examination and Treatment

  1. Rule out contra-indications to conservative care.
  2. Identify the pain generators: joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, disc, fascia, organ system.
  3. Identify ergonomic and movement stresses that aggravate the injured tissues.
  4. Treat soft tissue and osseous components related to pain and dysfunction with Precise Non-Force Chiropractic (DNFT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Techniques (PNF), Kinesiology, Voijtas Reflex Stimulation (DNS).
  5. Identify areas of instability and brace appropriately.
  6. Provide Activities of Daily Living advice geared toward reducing or eliminating micro-trauma stresses that interfere with tissue repair; i.e. ergonomic advice re: sleeping, sitting, lifting, walking, and breathing. These are activities each of which we perform millions of time per year. When there are problems with these activities leading to habitual dysfunction the consequences will be cumulative and may become severe.
  7. Provide Specific Exercise Rehabilitation instruction with special focus placed on stabilization in pedal, pelvic, core/trunk, shoulder girdle, and cervical/thoracic spine.
