Exercise Rehabilitation

Dr. Fowler utilizes an Eastern European approach to exercise rehabilitation geared toward spinal stabilization. He has achieved board certification in Exercise Rehabilitation through the American Chiropractic Rehab Board. He has taught exercise rehabilitation both in his clinic and throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands to chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists. He has taught for the Southern California University of Health Sciences, Northwestern University, and Sole Supports Orthotics Laboratory. He currently teaches for the Georgia Chiropractic Association for relicensure credits to Chiropractors liscensed in Georgia.

The goal of the exercise rehabilitation instructed in our clinics is to devise a brief series of exercises specific to the individual needs of each patient. Compliance rates are high with our patients because they understand the exercises and how they relate to their problems often bringing about immediate relief of symptoms and making proper posture easier.

Evaluation and exercise instruction is given in the clinic for patients to perform at home with simple equipment such as physioballs, exercise tubing, and proprioceptive or balance equipment. Spinal stabilization is the most important factor in prevention and recovery from back injuries. Endurance of muscles that maintain proper posture and function when performing difficult or lengthy projects is also critical to prevent back injuries and to expedite recovery.

If you have a personal trainer, martial arts, pilates, yoga etc instructor, Dr. Fowler will contact them and work hand in hand to coordinate a plan that works best for you and your individual goals. After 30 years of not being able to play tennis due to chronic and recalcitrant elbow pain from weight training and martial arts, Dr. Fowler has been able to apply this rehab technology and is playing tennis 6 - 8 hours per week without braces or pain.

With 25 years of martial arts training and 15 years of personal strength and stabilization exercise training, Dr. Fowler understands how to integrate exercise rehab to all the different lifestyles patients present with.
