CONSERVATIVE ORTHOPEDIC CARE

Dr. Fowler has achieved board certification in Chiropractic Orthopedics granted through the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists via the American Chiropractic Association (ACA).

This degree is achieved by taking a four year post graduate program, passing interim examinations and then sitting the boards both written and then one year later oral. Once board certified a chiropractic orthopedists can properly evaluate and treat joint instability that does not require surgical stabilization. If a patient presents with instability in a joint, this has to be artificially stabilized until the natural soft tissue healing has occurred.

Examples of conservative orthopedic management would be taping a sprained ankle, supports for plantar Fasciitis/heel spur syndrome, bracing and supports for low back instability, tennis and golfer's elbow, cervical collars post whiplash, back supports for chairs in cars and at work/home, proper pillows, corrective foot orthotics, teaching patients how to pick the right shoes, and advice on bedding.
